We cannot always know the direction in which life will unfold. I wonder sometimes to what extent our destinies are already carved out before us, before we even incarnate, whether everything is already ‘written’, and to what extent we imprint our dreams, desires and intentions on this Divine Blueprint. It seems like a subtle and intricate dance. Perhaps it is not necessary to entirely decode this sacred mystery…
I do feel however that we need to create more space for the soul, to learn how to listen to its quiet yet profound stirrings that serve as marker points for our greatest evolution here on the earth plane. By listening to and attending to the guidance of the soul we open ourselves up to our unique gift, that which will serve humanity. For we each have a sacred spark of the Cosmos to share with the world. Often, through upbringing, education, societal and cultural influences, this spark is dampened or almost entirely extinguished. Yoga is a wonderful tool for reigniting and nurturing this sacred flame within each of us.
Every individual has an integral part to play in an immense divine plan. As each of our experiences imprints itself onto our soul, the karmic and evolutionary cycle spirals on; we are given situations and contexts within which to purify, refine or even sublimate ourselves. Conceiving of things in this way can allay deep fears about being unworthy, alone or insignificant. My wish is that each of us can experience the resonance and inner nourishment of being alignedwith our unique divine path, and thus serve in the sacred Play of the Cosmos (Leela) in a positive and evolutive way. The journey may not always easy, but it will be authentic and rich and the soul will be content.
As says The Bhagavad Gita:
‘It is better to live your own destiny imperfectly than to live an imitation of somebody else’s destiny with perfection’
