Soma Yoga

Cultivating Radiance, resilience and ease

Long monthly practise - Saturdays 10h-12h30

Soma Yoga is a graceful weaving of yoga asana, fluid movement, pranayama and mudra, inspired by what yogic mystics refer to as ‘The Elixir of Life’. It is a nourishing and harmonizing practice that is deeply healing for the endocrine and nervous systems and will leave you feeling more balanced, rejuvenated and glowing.

Derived from the root « su » in Sanskrit, meaning to « energize, stimulate, expand and grow », Soma is conceived of as a downward flow of grace, wisdom and healing affiliated with moonlight and water. The word Soma also refers to the body in Greek (sōmatikos), and is at the root of the term somatic, which implies that the body is perceived from within.

The corporeal aesthetic of Soma Yoga is thus born from an inner blossoming of your awareness as opposed to a masterful execution of a particular posture or sequence. The kind of beauty that results is born from a presence and a sensibility that is deeply and authentically embodied, one that emanates outwards from within. This exquisite practice is akin to the process of 'Unmilayati', a beautiful Sanskrit term which means to blossom, unfurl or unfold.

The practise will conclude with a long moment of relaxation, accompanied by a cristalline sound bath, allowing for deep and sustainable resourcing.

The Seasonal Portals

Embodied attunement to the seasonal cycles

certain Saturdays 10h-12h30

An ongoing series of ateliers marking the seasonal turning points in the wheel of the year, bringing you into resonance and accordance with the cycles of light and dark, of contraction and expansion and of earth and cosmos.

Being attuned to the seasonal portals allows us to situate ourselves within the bigger picture of the macrocosm whilst feeling intricately and intimately linked. As we embody the energies of these energetic gateways we begin to realise that we are inextricably connected to all things by a radiant and poetic intelligence that governs the unfolding and dissolution of all natural phenomena. This embodied cyclicality and sensibility allows for a greater sense of belonging and a greater recognition of the beauty, power and wisdom of our world and how we can relate to it.

The map of the atelier:

  • Welcome and transmission of the themes

  • Fluid and dynamic sequencing of postures and movements including mudra and mantra

  • A long Alchemy Crystal Bowl sound bath

  • Sharing of a wildcrafted tisane created with seasonal plants

Embodiment Labs

unfurling into embodied presence

New dates coming soon!

An embodiment lab is a specially curated journey of movement exploration which begins with a particular portal of the body. Be it the skin, the heart, the lungs or the bones, the initial locus offers an entry point into the vast, poetic terrain of your body-mind, and becomes a sacred usher for a unique and emergent experience.

Within the container of an embodiment lab, you are guided via a series of finely attuned cues into your own unique movement inquiry. I will hold space for you and gently layer in possibilities, suggestions and invitations with the intention of you feeling safe and contained enough to go where you need to go.

The progressive layering of information is simply offered as a gentle and poetic framework to support the unfolding of your experience, whilst leaving enough space and time for you to discover that which is really alive and resonant for you. We will take a long time at the end of the practise to rest and assimilate and there will also be time to journal and share.
